Time of issue::2025-07-11 10:12

ALFED has formally launched a strategic partnership with the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade, aiming to boost the UK aluminium industry’s global trade capabilities and technical readiness. Unveiled at ALFED’s annual House of Lords lunch, the collaboration will support producers, processors, and recyclers navigate complex international trade issues like the UK’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and new Free Trade Agreements, offering insight, training, and policy access.

Nadine Bloxsome, ALFED’s CEO, noted the partnership’s timeliness amid evolving trade procedures and emission scrutiny, ensuring UK aluminium businesses remain competitive. Anna Doherty from the Chartered Institute highlighted their role in aiding compliance, cost optimization, and avoiding penalties. Open to all ALFED members, the partnership will be key to ALFED’s broader strategy, including the UK Aluminium Alliance and National Aluminium Action Plan.
