US Aluminium Caucus relaunches to raise awareness of metal

The bipartisan Congressional Aluminum Caucus relaunched this week as it looks for ways to strengthen US manufacturing and push awareness of aluminium in industries such as canmaking.
The Aluminum Caucus was first formed in 2013. It serves to raise awareness and discuss the importance of the US aluminium industry, the production and use of the metal, and key issues within the industry.
Congressman Morgan McGarvey (Democrat) helped relaunch the committee alongside Congresswoman Carol Miller (Republican), and Representatives Glenn Grothman (Rep) and Haley Stevens (Dem).
“From Ford trucks to aluminum cans and solar panels, aluminum manufacturing and recycling are critical to Louisville’s economy,” said McGarvey. “I am honoured to co-chair the Congressional Aluminum Caucus and continue fighting to create good paying jobs and economic opportunity for working families across my hometown.”
Miller added: “Aluminum is a critical metal that is used to produce a variety of important items from kitchenware, furniture, to aircraft. The US aluminum industry provides jobs for hundreds of thousands of hard-working Americans, and over 1,100 of those jobs are held by West Virginians. As a result, billions of dollars have been added to our nation’s economy. Together we will find ways to embolden the industry and strengthen US manufacturing.”
