ALFED calls for industry voices to shape aluminium sector

The Aluminium Federation (ALFED) is urging businesses within the aluminium sector to help take part in shaping the future of the industry.
An industry survey launched by ALFED today (26 February) aims to identify key growth opportunities for the sector and drive policy engagement with the UK Government.
The State of the Aluminium Industry Survey provides “crucial insights into market challenges, investment needs, sustainability drivers, and trade concerns”, according to ALFED.
At a time when the UK aluminium sector is facing increasing pressures from rising energy costs, global trade competition, regulatory changes, and decarbonisation goals, the industry body said the results will help shape its work in advocating for the industry at both policy and commercial levels.
“The UK aluminium industry is facing a period of significant change, and it is essential that businesses have a platform to share their experiences, challenges, and ambitions,” said Nadine Bloxsome, chief executive of ALFED.
“This survey will directly influence how we advocate for the sector – whether that’s securing the right policy support, driving funding into key areas, or developing initiatives that support members. We strongly encourage all businesses across the aluminium supply chain to take part and make their voice heard.”
ALFED is calling on all aluminium-related businesses to participate in the survey, whether involved in primary production, downstream processing, recycling, or supply chain services.
